How to Apply for PAN Card

PAN Card (Permanent Account Number) This document is given to you by Income Tax of India. You need PAN card to do financial activities. You need a PAN card to open an account in a bank and to do transactions. Without PAN card you cannot do financial activities. You have been given information about how to apply PAN card online as well as offline and what documents are required for it.

How to Apply PAN Card Online

If you want to apply PAN card online then you must have internet mobile or computer. And soft copy of your KYC document is a must. You can apply PAN card online in the following way.

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

You have to apply for PAN card by going to NSDL or UTIITSL portal. The process of applying PAN card is same in these two websites.

Step 2: Choose the Application Type

Here you will see two types of forms. If you are Indian citizens then you have to fill Form 49A. If you are foreign citizens then you have to fill Form 49AA.

Step 3: Fill in the Application Form

You need to provide the following details:

• Full Name (Enter full name on Aadhaar card here)
• Father’s Name
• Date of Birth (Enter the birthday date on the Aadhaar card here)
• Contact Details (email address and mobile number)
• Residential/Office Address (Enter the address on the light bill here.)
• Aadhaar Number
• Source of Income ( salary, business income, no income)

Enter all information correctly if you enter wrong information your application will be rejected and you will not get pan card.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents

Scan copies of KYC document have to be uploaded here.

• Driving License

Proof of Address (Any one of these)

• Aadhaar Card
• Utility Bill (electricity, water, gas)
• Bank Statement or Passbook
• Passport

Proof of Date of Birth (Any one of these)

• Matriculation Certificate

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

Fees to apply for PAN card.

• For Indian Citizens: ₹110
• For Foreign Citizens: ₹1,020

You can make the payment for PAN card using net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. After payment you will be given an acknowledgment number. Then you can track pan card. PAN card will reach your home within 15 days.

Step 6: Submit the Application

After the payment is complete, take a print out of the form. After that you will be given a 15 digit acknowledgment number, using that number you can track the PAN card.
